Fire induced rainfall
This animation shows the effects of the fires burning around Victoria on the formation of rain downwind.
Much of this rain probably fell as virga though, and hence may not have reached the ground.
There are actually four different fires that can be 'seen' on this loop, at the Grampians (South of Halls Gap), Brisbane Ranges/Anakie (Between Meredith and Laverton), Yea (Second half of the Animation between Yea and Healsville), and Gippsland/Erica (NW of Traralgon).
You can also see near the end of the animation when the SW change comes in and some of the cloud from the Anakie fire is pushed up toward Melbourne and the precipitation fades.
